Rose of Jericho
(AKA Resurrection Fern, "Anastatica")
Live plant – dormant until placed in water. Easy care, no fuss, beautiful, fun, and perfect for the altar.
The Rose of Jericho is a beautiful and fascinating plant that is so much fun to have. It is like a small tumbleweed when it's dormant. For it to open, place the plant (roots down) into a bowl or deep plate of water. After a few minutes, the plant will begin to uncurl it's branches and spread flat. The stunning green color and texture of the branches begin to show and it is revitalized! Once the plant soaks up all the water, it will close back up and go into the dormant stage again. The process of watering it and drying it can be repeated many of times! Be sure to let it dry after each watering or it could rot. It's such a cool plant to have and perfect for people who may have a black-thumb.

The Rose of Jericho is traditionally used for rituals of good fortune, good luck, and prosperity. In Hoodoo, it is used to perform love spells as well. Here is a simple good luck ritual although the options are endless.
Place the plant in a dish of water. Wait for it to open fully then place a piece of citrine crystal in the middle of the open plant. Recite your prosperity incantation and allow the plant to close with the crystal still in the middle. The energy of the plant and crystal will be in the leftover water which you can spray around you home, outside your door, or add to bath water.
